What to Expect at Your Appointment
Consultation: We discuss your goals, skin type, daily routine, previous permanent makeup, and desired result.
Pre-Mapping and Outline: We carefully measure and draw the proposed design directly on the treatment area.
Design Approval: You see and approve the shape before tattooing begins. Adjustments can be made during this stage.
Color Selection: Pigment is selected to complement your natural coloring and desired healed result.
Topical Numbing: Numbing is applied to help keep you comfortable.
Permanent Makeup Application: The selected technique is performed with attention to balance, placement, and detail.
Aftercare: You receive instructions explaining how to care for the area during healing.
Permanent Makeup Is Usually a Two-Session Process
Most new permanent makeup services are completed in two stages:
Initial Appointment: We consult with you, pre-map the design, obtain your approval, choose the pigment color, apply topical numbing, and perform the selected technique.
Perfecting Touch-Up: A second appointment is recommended approximately 4–6 weeks later, after the area has healed. We evaluate pigment retention, fill any lighter areas, refine the shape, and adjust the color if needed.
The perfecting touch-up is booked and priced separately. Future color boosts are maintenance appointments scheduled later as the pigment naturally fades.
Every person heals differently. Permanent makeup usually looks darker immediately after treatment and then softens as it heals. Some areas may temporarily appear lighter before the final color settles.

Understanding the Different Brow Techniques
All of our brow techniques begin the same way: we consult with you, pre-map and outline the brows, let you review the shape, select the pigment color, and apply topical numbing before the procedure. The main difference between the methods is the tool used and the finished look.
The timeframes below are averages—not guarantees. Skin type, age, sun exposure, skincare, medications, lifestyle, aftercare, and natural skin renewal can all affect how quickly pigment fades.
Microblading — Manual Hair Strokes
Microblading uses a manual hand tool to create individual strokes that look like natural eyebrow hairs. No machine is used for the hair strokes.
How it looks: Crisp, natural-looking hair strokes
Best for: Clients with normal-to-dry skin who want a very natural result
How long it usually lasts: Approximately 12–18 months before a color boost may be desired
When to return: First perfecting touch-up in 4–6 weeks; maintenance color boost commonly around 12–18 months
Important: Microblading may fade or blur more quickly on oily or highly textured skin. Another method may be recommended after we evaluate your skin.
Nano Brows — Machine Hair Strokes
Nano brows create realistic hair strokes with a permanent makeup machine and a fine needle. The look is similar to microblading, but the application method is different: microblading uses a manual hand tool, while nano brows use a machine.
How it looks: Soft, detailed, realistic hair strokes
Best for: Clients who want a natural hair-stroke look, including many clients who may not be ideal for traditional microblading
How long it usually lasts: Approximately 1–3 years, depending heavily on skin and lifestyle
When to return: First perfecting touch-up in 4–6 weeks; maintenance color boost commonly around 12–24 months
Key difference: Nano uses a machine; microblading uses a manual hand tool.
Microshading / Powder Brows —
Soft Shading Microshading uses a permanent makeup machine to place tiny pixels of pigment throughout the brow. Instead of drawing individual hairs, it creates soft color that resembles brows filled in with powder or pencil. This technique is also commonly called a powder brow.
How it looks: Softly filled, polished, and defined
Best for: Most skin types, especially oily skin, sparse brows, or clients who normally fill in their brows with makeup
How long it usually lasts: Approximately 2–3 years
When to return: First perfecting touch-up in 4–6 weeks; maintenance color boost commonly around 18–24 months
Key difference: Microblading and nano create hair strokes. Microshading creates a soft, filled-in background.
Ombré Powder Brows —
Gradient Shading. Ombré brows are a style of powder brow—not an entirely different procedure. A machine is used to create soft shading, but the front of the brow is kept lighter and gradually becomes more defined through the arch and tail.
How it looks: A soft front with a more structured arch and tail
Best for: Clients who want a polished makeup effect without a harsh, solid-looking front
How long it usually lasts: Approximately 2–3 years
When to return: First perfecting touch-up in 4–6 weeks; maintenance color boost commonly around 18–24 months
Key difference: Powder brows have soft shading throughout. Ombré powder brows use a light-to-dark gradient.
Combination / Hybrid Brows —
Hair Strokes Plus Shading. Combination brows blend realistic hair strokes with soft machine shading. The strokes add natural detail at the front and in sparse areas, while the shading adds fullness and definition through the body and tail.
Depending on the client and the artist's recommended approach, the hairstrokes may be created with a manual microblading tool or with a nano machine technique.
How it looks: Natural texture with added fullness and definition
Best for: Clients with sparse areas who want more dimension than hair strokes alone but a softer result than a full powder brow
How long it usually lasts: Approximately 1–3 years
When to return: First perfecting touch-up in 4–6 weeks; maintenance color boost commonly around 12–24 months
Key difference: Combination brows give you both individual hair strokes and a softly filled-in finish.

I had the pleasure of getting my brows blessed by Tara. She did an amazing job! I went from having no brows to Bam Brows! I highly recommend her services, she is knowledgeable, professional and considers your preference in the vision you have for your finalized look. She is my forever go to Brow Gal! Definitely plan to invest in the other services she has to offer at her lovely Spa.

Tara did a fabulous job on my brows. Procedure was pain free and I loved the warm massage table that she use during the procedure. Really helps you relax. I highly recommend her practice.
